I think one of the best marketing strategies CytoSport has come up with, and they have applied this to their top-selling product, Muscle Milk, is the number of interesting flavors available in this product range. At last count, there are 30 flavors available in the Muscle Milk range, including some very interesting ones such as Crème Brulee, Horchata, Egg Nog, Dulce De Leche, and Blueberries 'n Crème.
I looked up the Horchata flavour as I haven’t heard of that one before (you know, it’s outside of the vanilla, chocolate and strawberry) and found it was a mix of for several kinds of vegetable beverages, made of ground almonds, sesame seeds, rice, barley or tigernuts (ouch!) (chufas). Tigernuts, out of interest, ranks among the oldest cultivated plants in Ancient Egypt, and have excellent nutritional qualities with a fat composition similar to olives and a rich mineral content, especially phosphorus and potassium. As a side, horchata is used in Some Latin-American bars in Southern California use horchata as a mixer in a cocktail known as a Rice Rocket. The drink is made of 2 parts horchata, 1 part coconut-flavoured rum and a dash of Goldschlager over ice. Hey, this is nothing to do with bodybuilding, but once I get onto the Wiki, there is no stopping me.
So, checkout the flavours in the Muscle Milk range and try out a few. Muscle Milk comes in two sizes, 2.48 and 4.96 pound containers. The best thing about the smaller size is you can buy a number of different flavours without spending too much.
